Best Performance

Brazil are the favourites to lift the World Cup trophy this winter, and its not tough to see why. The 5 time World Cup champions have competed in every single tournament since 1930, and topped the South American qualifying group by winning 14 of their 17 games. They have lost just one competitive match since they were knocked out by Belgium in the 2018 World Cup Quarter Final, and that was in the Copa America final against arch rivals Argentina in 2021. It has been a full 20 years though since they last lifted the trophy, being knocked out in the quarter finals in 3 of the 4 tournaments since, though they will take solace from the fact that they did become world champions the last time the tournament was held in Asia.

Player to Watch

The 30 year old PSG superstar looks set to break every record for his nation, as he sits just 3 goals shy of Pele in goals scored and 23 games short of Cafu in appearances for Brazil. In his first 5 seasons in Paris, Neymar scored 100 goals in just 144 appearances, and that record came after scoring 105 in his previous 4 seasons at Barcelona. He has done it all at club level, but has only lifted the Confederations Cup trophy for his country back in 2013, and is sure to be desperate to lift this coveted trophy this winter.
